An exhibition of the work of the English printer Desmond Jeffery opens at the St Bride Library in London tonight. This is the first chance for the public to see something of his production.
Hyphen Press has important connections with this work. Our book Modern typography in Britain carries an essay by Sally Jeffery on ‘Desmond Jeffery the printer’. Anthony Froshaug played an essential role in Jeffery’s path to printing, and, another of his contemporaries, Norman Potter shared much with Jeffery, as a workshop-designer and in political beliefs and commmitments.
