Our second CD

Every one a chaconne, the second recording by The Bach Players has just arrived in physical form and will be launched publicly at the group’s concerts in Cork, Norwich, and London in the coming week.

This new recording brings together pieces by J.S. Bach, Henry Purcell, and Philipp Heinrich Erlebach, linked by the common thread of the chaconne: that irresistible dance. Following intensive market research we have developed the packet somewhat from the form used for the first CD: booklet and disc are now held in just one pocket. The main writer for the booklet is again Hugh Wood, and we show a couple of beautiful engravings used in Kellom Tomlinson’s The art of dancing (1735). Typeface freaks may want this item just to see more of Ludwig in use.
